U.S. Citizens The USAWC is located at idyllic Carlisle Barracks in south-central Pennsylvania, home to a historic Army post that provides a collegial, vibrant, and secure work environment for employees, approximately 30 minutes west of the state capital (Harrisburg) and 2 hours from Philadelphia and Washington, DC. The area is noted for easy commutes, diverse cultural events, and a relatively low cost of living, and is one of central Pennsylvania's largest and most respected employers. The principal organizations of the USAWC are the School of Strategic Landpower, the Center for Strategic Leadership, the Strategic Studies Institute, the Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, the Army Strategic Education Program, and the Army Heritage and Education Center. They work collectively to accomplish the USAWC mission:
Enhance national and global security by developing ideas and educating U.S. and international leaders to serve and lead at the strategic-enterprise level. Students range from mid-career to senior executives. The Dean is rated by the Provost and senior rated by the Commandant. In addition to the master's degree, the USAWC administers numerous professional development programs focused on strategic thinking and leadership that range from the 16-week course for junior officers qualifying as Army strategists to shorter courses for general officers, senior colonels, and command sergeants major. The senior-level curriculum is delivered two ways-through a 10-month resident program (about 385 students) and a 2-year distance education program (about 850 students); both lead to a Master of Strategic Studies degree accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Applicants will be rated based on the criteria listed below by a panel of subject matter experts appointed with the purpose of identifying the best-qualified candidates. Proven ability to provide effective leadership and mentorship to a diverse faculty. A strong record of innovation and institutional improvement. Extensive teaching experience at the graduate level. A demonstrated ability to strategically develop and implement a shared vision through open dialogue and transparency, as well as build and empower teams. Superb communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior governmental officials and foreign partners. Demonstrated experience with program review and the ability to achieve or maintain military and/or academic accreditation. Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, educational methodologies, and faculty development. At least 3 years' experience with Army professional military education or joint professional military education systems is desirable. Experience related to hiring and management of faculty, hiring staff, budgeting, and academic policies. Excellent people and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build effective and productive relationships. An earned Ph.D., Ed.D., J.D., or DBA from a reputable accredited university.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
