Systems Engineer, Enterprise Monitoring
Job Description :
This engineer will be the system administrator for our Enterprise Monitoring platforms and will routinely work with vendors, project managers, system administrators, database administrators, application developers and end users in order to maintain and improve the performance of our servers, databases and applications.
We are looking for a flexible, self-starter with a positive attitude that enjoys supporting and helping others in a fast paced and team oriented environment.
Skills/Experience :
Education
Bachelor Degree (EE, CS, etc.)

Experience:
HP Operations Manager and related certifications
Technical Skills & Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain a HP Operations Manager (OM) system monitoring production environment, to include management servers, agents and the associated alerting.
Evaluate new applications, network devices, servers, SANs, and other enterprise devices for monitoring requirements
Produce status reports on monitored systems and performance statistics to include system availability, usage statistics, alerts/notifications, trend analysis and SLA support
Provide primary support and contact for OM, escalating to backline support as necessary.
Provide support to 24/7 Shift Systems Administrators/Operators responsible for monitoring systems via OM.
Periodic on-call support and availability outside of normal working hours
Experience with disaster recovery preparedness and recovery exercises
Ability to establish and maintain Windows architecture best practices, including procedures, templates and relevant documentation
Engage in various monitoring-related projects as new requirements come from management and business.
Interact with various support teams to maintain the applications, databases and servers
Required experience & knowledge:
HP Operation Manager product family experience

years of managing Enterprise Monitoring environments

years UNIX/Linux systems administration experience
2
years Microsoft Windows administration experience
Preferred experience & knowledge:
SQL Server and Oracle Database monitoring experience desired
Strong scripting skills (Perl, PowerShell, etc.)
Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols is highly desired
Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
